Sturdy gate great for babies and small dogs.
This is a well made gate. It’s relatively easy to install and adjust. It works well and opens and closes smoothly. It takes a bit of work to get the top latch lined up when you install it but once everything is lined up it will self latch easily. I like the dual action required to open it, it adds an extra layer of safety to keep crafty kids and pets on the correct side of the gate. It comes with a good assortment of hardware so that it can be installed in a wide range of areas. Mine came with a set of spacers that made it a breeze to set the correct height and adjusting the width is pretty easy. Overall this is a solid baby gate that provides a good value.

Great child safety gate
I bought this gate after seeing & using it in my daughter’s home. Excellent gate. Easy to install. I especially like that there is no bottom rail that might cause one to trip. Difficult for children to open as it requires both a gate lift along with large button release to open. Door swings both ways. My stairway to the basement has no door, so this gate is perfect, not only preventing my young grandchildren from falling but also myself & others if accidentally losing footing or balance near stairway.

Pretty good baby gate
We love this gate. Our little one was determined to play in the foyer (where all our shoes are) and we wanted to keep them out of there. It works well, seems to be sturdy, latches easily, and is high enough that the baby can’t pull themselves over it. The installation was a little tricky and you periodically need to pull the door to get it to securely latch. It’s not too bad, but this is the reason for the one star reduction. I really like that it opens both ways (in and out).

Quality build, very sturdy.
The top of the stairs to the basement is open. This presents a safety risk for children and elderly. I wanted a gate that I could buy and install before Thanksgiving. It had to be attractive and sturdy. I chose the Babelio safety gate because it has no bottom bar, and appeared to be of better quality and sturdier than a previous baby gate that had owned. This gate came well packaged with all the necessary parts. Spacer blocks that attach to the bottom of the gate, made it easy to set the height from the floor. Like any gate or door, it has to be installed level and vertical (plumb). The directions are clear if you follow the step-by-step process, you should have no problems. Once installed, I pushed on the gate to see if I could force it open. No way the locks and mechanisms held. This is a very sturdy secure gate. And it looks good besides.

Secure, safe, and attractive
I use this to keep my dogs away from my door – escape proofing the exit. It works perfectly, is attractive and I love that there is no bar across the floor. The gate is sturdy, provides security, and adjusted to the size I needed. While fairly simple to install, I would not say it was easy. Read and reread the instructions for each step until you understand what you are-doing and why. I installed it in under 40 minutes, but I am sure it can be done in less time.

We’ve purchased five of these No Bottom Bar Gates over the past couple of years, and they’ve proven to be an excellent choice for both keeping our dogs confined and ensuring our kids are safe from stairs.The first gate we installed was a challenge due to unclear instructions, requiring trial and error to get it right. However, the manufacturer has since updated the instructions, and the version from our most recent purchase is much clearer. That said, having prior experience with installation likely contributed to the ease this time around, so new users might still find it slightly challenging.This gate shines in areas where pressure-mounted gates fall short. The absence of a bottom bar is a game-changer. It eliminates tripping hazards (particularly important for grandparents, and for stairs) avoids damage to wood floors, and allows our Roomba to pass underneath for uninterrupted cleaning. We installed the gate slightly higher than recommended for this exact reason, which has worked perfectly for our household; Roomba works even with the gate closed!The gate’s full-width opening is another major plus. It provides ample space for anyone to pass through comfortably, and the dual-direction opening is a thoughtful touch. The auto-close feature works reliably, and the stay-open option is convenient when we need the gate temporarily out of the way.Construction feels solid and secure; our kid hangs from it constantly and it hasn’t bent/warped. The double-lock mechanism adds an extra layer of safety, though it does take a bit of getting used to. I find the one-handed operation easy, but it’s slightly less intuitive for my wife and visitors unfamiliar with it.Overall, we’re very happy with this gate. Great Gate with a Few Minor Flaws
We’ve been using this gate for a few weeks now and overall, it’s been a great addition to our home. It was fairly easy to install and feels sturdy and secure—definitely gives us peace of mind with little ones around the stairs.I really like the sleek design; it blends in well with our decor and doesn’t look bulky. The locking mechanism is also easy for adults to use but keeps kids safely out.The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the latch can be a bit tricky to open one-handed, especially if you’re carrying a baby or laundry. Also, the instructions could be a bit clearer.Still, a solid product that does exactly what it promises. Would definitely recommend to other parents!

After our big ‘ol Boxer-mix took a tumble down the carpeted stairs, we knew we had to prevent him from free access to the stairs when we are not watching him (he has some arthritis in his legs that doesn’t help him with stairs).The first gates we bought were white plastic (garbage). He pushed through the first white plastic gate in a record 3 minutes!! We were able to return those useless gates to Amazon for a full refund.Then, I spotted this gate. Love the useful video that you can watch before making the decision to purchase it. We bought 3. The metal is strong and also attractive. Our house is 125 years old (so, doubt there is a straight line / wall to be had) – and my son was able to get all 3 installed securely. On 2 of them, we had to forego the bottom latch – but no problem – since the top latch is solid and really clinches the trick. So easy to open and close. One is installed outside on the back deck above the stairs. Not sure how it will do outside in our Canadian winters. However, I am sure it will be fine with a little WD40, etc – if any of the outdoor element issues arise.Our pup is 100 lbs of pure love!! These gates stop our boy – plus look great (smart at the same time).

We were looking for a no-fuss, pressure-mounted temporary baby gate that ideally wasn’t the usual ugly white cheap plastic crap. This metal gate exceeded all our expectations. Not only is it immensely sturdy at only a fraction of the price more than the cheap quality stuff, the wood look finish was an added plus. From close you can obviously tell that it’s not real wood, but from far it does the trick and blends perfectly with our staircase. 10/10 highly recommend. We even decided to buy two more and our house is perfectly puppy/baby proof!

I’m using this gate for 7 dogs. It was easy to install, didn’t use instructions. I didn’t use the bottom locking bracket. It wasn’t needed but also cause having to lift the gate to unlock would put excess strain on the hinges and it was not very easy to do. The gate is sturdy, easily adjustable for length and simple to install. It swings open easily both ways, with just a push of a button. As advertised it does swing back and lock if opened less than full and it does pressure lock when fully opened. Big upgrade on our pressure fit old gate that gouged the walls with excessive use. Not to mention having a couple family members trip over the old one cause moving it was a pain. One thing to mention is the hinges and locking mechanism are solid plastic. I’d prefer metal of course but full metal would be 3 times the price likely. I used a piece of tape to hold the lift locking mechanism in. Sturdy enough to hold 7 big dogs back and super easy to open, perfect👍🏻

The gate adjustable width and overall design is fundamentally good. Lining up the the wall anchor points can be a challenge. It is much better if screwing into timber rather than plasterboard. The supplied raw plugs are not effective and it requires a more capable ramset type anchor plug when anchoring to a plaster board cavity type wall.
