Sturdy little locks with options
Due to some unfortunate circumstances I’ve had to change locks on pretty much everything, including the outside and inside storage of my RV. These fit that purpose wonderfully, and if I don’t use them there I will put them on my dresser to keep prying eyes and sticky fingers out. I really like that there are 3 different options for the locking bar, that is going to come in handy.Lock operation is smooth, admittedly more so than I expected for the price. Typically with cheap locks theres some roughness on the pins and/or the keys, some catches while turning, or stickiness when returning to the locked position. Theres none of that here.If you know locks and keyways at all, this is a triple pin tumbler and only one sided. The keys are cut on both sides so it doesnt matter which way its inserted, the lock will turn. This is both nice, and somewhat deceiving as it alludes to a two sided tumbler, which would mean extra pick resistance, but its just for convenience.The lock body is very sturdy, and actually a bit heavier than I expected based on previous experience with similar locks. The bars are all about 1/8″ thick, and there is very little play once installed on the lock. The retaining screws for the bars are a little short for my liking, but stout. Like the teapot. The nut that secures the lock in place is “castled”, I guess. Not sure what the correct term is for the little sharp bits that dig into the surface to keep it in place, but thats what they’ve got. Pictures show what I mean.I’ll be installing these in the next day or so, and will likely pick up a couple more sets for the rest of the doors and drawers.

All RV Locks Are Not the Same

Not secure if you drill a round hole as instructed
For the price, this is a pretty good pair of drawer or cabinet locks to keep out honest people. I installed them in drawers of my mother’s wooden dresser in her retirement home so she could keep some things from getting stolen by the staff and only have to keep up with 1 key for both locks. However, the instructions to drill a round hole for mounting compromises security. The body of the lock is an oval shape with flat sides to keep it from turning completely when installed in an oval hole. However, if it’s mounted in a circular hole, it provides no resistance to turning the entire lock body to unlock the drawer or cabinet with something flat and strong like a screwdriver or a car key. Turning the entire lock body would unlock and relock the cabinet and leave no evidence that it had been opened. To prevent this from happening, I used some clear epoxy to fix the lock body in the hole and not allow it to turn.
