Gorgeous Car Seat with Luxury Features!
What a beautiful car seat! I LOVE the faux leather accents for the cup holders. The white/gray piping is such a delicate little touch that really adds to the overall aesthetic. Not only is there a cup holder… this one has two good sized ones! The fabric is smooth and feels luxurious. It’s also very padded so I’m confident it will keep an infant and baby safe in case of a collision. I really love the color scheme of the Caspian Silver version – it’s unlike the other car seat colors I’ve chosen previously. My friend has received a lot of compliments on it! The headrest is adjustable depending on your child’s size and age. However, the head and body pillows have to be used together and is optional only if the seat is rear facing and your baby is under 5-40 pounds.I like this car seat but it’s a pain to install. It definitely takes some getting used to. Additionally, despite the fact that it’s rated for a child from 5 pounds to 100 pounds, I’m not exactly sure how comfortable it would be for a child once they grow out of toddlerhood. This is an awesome car seat but I wonder if I wouldn’t keep this one for a new baby through toddlerhood and then purchase a dedicated booster. It’s hard for me to say though because we only tried this car sear for a baby and a toddler.

Maxi Cosi Kani 4 in 1
This is a very nice carseat that will last for many years to come! We have many maxi cosi carseats between my car, husbands car, and grandparents vehicles and have been impressed with them all. This one does not disappoint and measures up with what we have come to expect from maxi cosi products. It is a very sturdy, safe, comfortable and thoughtfully designed seat. We love the magnetic chest clip. It makes getting them in and out even quicker and easier which is always a plus. Easy to install and very aesthetically pleasing. This is a higher price point seat but the 4-in-1 convertible options more than makes up for it in my opinion. We will be able to use this rear facing for now and then convert all the way until my son is out of a carseat. As always, very impressed with Maxi Cosi and highly recommend.

UPDATE:as a group, all that use the car seat DISLIKE the magnetic claspIf you have fingernails, even natural nails, (forget fake), it is impossible to position your fingers to pinch hard enough and pull away/apart the claspI am so used to squeeze and pull in the Graco, so much easierFirst time I bought a non-Graco brand car seat, and this COMPARES WELL.(photo shows I added cup holder trays, just noting as they do not come with the car seat)Have purchased 3 prior convertible style car seats in the past, and we needed just one more as we make the final switch for baby # 2 to go from an infant car seat to a larger car seat.I am the “buyer” for the family as parents both work, and we as grandparents do the babysitting during the week, so the kids are transported to our home. Price compared at the high end to other convertible car seats.I was worried as this is SLIM, and the other car seats I went with the wider models just to give the kids more room as they continue to grow. I honestly didn’t notice any size difference yet.And I honestly didn’t realize that this detaches and can be a booster seat on its own, as I am accustomed that the “other” models would not do that.Before writing the review, we tested our knowledge and ability to adjust the position of the back tilt, as it will be first used rear facing.We did have to adjust the placement of the buckle, as it came closest to the seat back.We did adjust the length of the restraining harness to give more room for body.I always insert a piddle pad and a minky dot insert.Those both fit well in the seat.(I add these just as the first layer to get dirty/wet, and not have to power wash the actual car seat if there is an accident.)It will take me time to learn the functionality as I am used to the other brand.but was really impressed with the comfort of the padding.Impressed it comes with harness cushions included.We did have to consult the manual, it was not intuitive how to adjust the seat tilt.We adjust the actual seat harness straps inside as a test before strapping it in the car.all seems to be functioning well. Never heard of this brand.

Good as a car seat, hate the conversions
I need to start by saying I LOVE maxi cosi products. They’re a premium product but cheaper than some of their competition. I have had multiple maxi cosi car seats and booster seats but never this kani version. I was excited about this one particularly because it can convert to booster with or without a back.Unrelated to safety, the color way is right up my alley. I love the black with the leather derailed cup holders-it’s so cute and high end!Here’s my feedback tho. My child isn’t infant size anymore. We’re on our last bit of car seat, about to enter booster seat stage so I set this up as an infant seat and then went through every single conversion and I gotta be honest…the conversions aren’t the best. As an infant or baby car seat? INCREDIBLE! So cushy and beautiful and feels so sturdy and safe.One you take this apart and start doing all the conversions you might want to scream. First step was the backed booster-I did all that work and it’s SO HEAVY AND BULKY. Once I got it in, the base still angles and adjusts like a car seat does and I couldn’t get it to sit flush and upright. It almost felt unsafe based on what my other high backed boosters typically look like once they’re installed. I decided to take the back off and go for the backless conversion and that also was not my favorite. Once I swapped the cup holders around and got the dang cover situated I realized the back free booster option has no anchors! Idk about you all but I want my boosters anchored into the vehicle. The directions say to strap and clip the seatbelt when there’s no child in the boosters to keep them from becoming projectiles and honestly….what? Even if it’s acceptable I don’t feel safe without anchors. I reconstructed this back to a car seat and we will ride out our remaining car seat years in it and then purchase a legitimate maxi cosi booster when the time comes.
