These are great! They have everything except one thing:
I have been installing and setting Up camera systems for folks in their homes and businesses And have Dealt with many systems and brands. There is no one system that is meant for everybody. Depending on where they live, the Wi-Fi might not be that great, they may have a need for only a few cameras, and then others need a full system. The ones that need full systems are rarely ever in need of a full system. However, in that event, we usually install Lorex systems that have a hard drive and no Cloud storage fees. What makes these cameras great is the fact that they can hold up to a 512 GB memory card to Store all your footage on and the footage loops. Just like a DVR or an NVR set up, if you put a 512 GB memory card in each one of these cameras it will loop just like the NVR and DVR. Depending on how large your property is, you may need to get another set of these, but to cover all four sides of your home you will need one on each side. These cameras have motion, detection and motion following so when they detect motion, they will automatically follow and record. I’ve been testing this out for days now and it really is very responsive. The TP link app is one of the better apps out there to run your system. It’s a responsive and allows you to not constantly be notified if you don’t want to be. It has all the bells and whistles except for one thing: it does not hook up to 5 GHz Wi-Fi. It does pan tilt zoom motion, following motion, detection nighttime color vision the works, but only hooks up to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.I will add a better in depth more detailed review after a few more days, but wanted to first get this out there if you can get these on a lightning deal like I did you’ll wanna grab them while they’re on sale. They are very sleek looking and one of the better budget IP cams out there.

The best baby cameras so far
Over the years, we’ve purchased many different baby cameras from the ones with screen monitors to the cheap Walmart ones that are just to listen. These do not come with a screen monitor. You download the Tapo App and register the devices. Where you can set what room is which with its own little personally chosen icon. These cameras do run off of WiFi once connected, so if you’re concerned about hacking I’m sure there are precautions that could be taken farther than strengthening the WiFI password. We live in a secluded area out in the country so the WiFi being hacked really isn’t a worry of ours. But you’re able to access the cameras from anywhere as long as you are logged into the account used on the app and the camera has power to it.The app and to use it does not require a subscription to use.I have an android phone and was able to create a video widget for each camera where all I have to do is hit the refresh button to quickly check on the camera without having to open the app. The ease of the app is very simple, it does not lag, it refreshes quickly and does not crash. When there is multiple cameras added (you can have up to 32 since Tapo also offers security cameras for inside and outside the home) you can scroll easily between each camera without having to back out. There is a feature where you can talk through the camera and the sound is loud and clear. You can also adjust the volume coming from the camera into the room and what it being heard through the camera on the users’ end.If you disconnect your camera to move it to another place, you do not have to reregister that camera as if it were bran new like other models out there. The picture image is 1080p, it is a crisp, clean image which will automatically switch between night mode depending on the lighting of the room. The cameras automatically send out notifications to the phone. What I thought was quite interesting is how when it’s set for the baby’s room, the notifications specify whether there is “motion detected” from the baby moving around, “baby crying” when the child cries, and “person detected” when an adult is in the room.

Very clear and good speaker
If you want an indoor secure camera while you are away to check on your pet, I do highly recommended this camera. Very easy to set up, just follow the instructions, I installed the app through Apple Store , and there will be an app for Android user too. If you somehow need to reset, there will be a small black button behind the camera which you might have to move the camera around (it took me a little time to find the button but it is there ). I was able to say hi to my cat anytime when I missed him, and held an extensive conversations over the phone and through the camera. My cat sitter said she can hear me just fine too. The camera was able to rotate different angles which is convenience to check on the house. My only complaint would be any movement in the house , such as the fans moving , the camera will detect it alert me that there’s movement in the house , or “people” moving , which you can get overwhelm with the amount of notifications about it.As for storage , I didn’t have ad card storage which is fine, since the internal storage last a few days either way.Other than that, for the price point , this is a solid camera set overall.

Great product
So far I really love these cameras! They pic up all sorts of motion. You can hear very well and talk on them too. I have to keep an eye on my elderly mother who had a stroke and she lives alone with another eldery man who can’t help her. So I make sure she is ok while I’m at my home working. I can quickly talk to her or see what is going on. This would of been very helpful when I had small kids in the home! Can’t beat the price and you get two of them. I’m setting one up in my home to watch my cats while on vacation and the other camera is at my mom’s home. You need a SD micro card if you want to have recordings of things. If not you don’t need a subscription or anything to just use them.

This is my second time purchasing the TP-Link Tapo 2K Pan Tilt Security Camera, and it continues to impress! As a baby monitor and pet camera, it delivers exceptional value for the price. The 2K resolution provides crisp, clear visuals, and the night vision is remarkably sharp, letting me check on my sleeping toddler or curious dog with ease. The pan-and-tilt feature covers a wide area, and motion detection alerts keep me informed of any activity. The Tapo app is a standout—intuitive, responsive, and packed with features like cloud and SD card storage options, making it a breeze to monitor from my phone or tablet. Integration with Alexa and Google Home adds even more convenience. The only downside is the two-way audio system, which lags significantly and often delivers unclear sound, making it unreliable for proper communication. However, considering the camera’s affordability and robust functionality, this flaw is easy to overlook. I primarily use it for monitoring, and it excels in that role. The setup is straightforward, and the wireless design allows flexible placement. For anyone seeking a cost-effective, feature-rich security camera for indoor use, this is a fantastic choice. Its reliability and app quality have made it a repeat purchase for me—highly recommend for budget-conscious parents or pet owners!

Easy peasy lemon squeezey lol. Got it all powered up, booted up, connected, updated, and working perfectly in about 15 minutes. Tinkered around with the settings, everything is pretty straightforward. Good solid unit – no give/play in the pan/tilt motors. The picture/video quality is pretty good, faces easily recognizable from x1-zoom@13ft away, & full-zoom@13ft away. Audio is very clear both ways. Conveniently the app has the option to save photos and videos directly to your phone👌🏽(So far I’ve only tested that with taking a photo/video manually from the live view screen as I don’t have a Micro SD Card yet.)The only thing that is annoying, thankfully 1 time only, is the “Time Zone” setting that applies to the time stamp at the top left corner of your live view screen, they aren’t labeled quite right so you may have to try a few of them to get the right time displayed.Other than that, no complaints! I’ll update the review if anything changes that.
