Very Simple but Good Quality
This camera works extremely well, it has a clear picture both in the light and a dark room, clear audio, and very simple to set up. It also has a option to mount it on the wall which is really helpful. Battery lasts a long time as well and reaches all throughout my house without glitching.

Very affordable
So happy I bought this. Very affordable camera monitor. I’m also glad you do not need WiFi since we can’t get good WiFi where we live. Other than placing the camera and making sure they were both plugged in (or at least charged for the monitor) you didn’t have to set anything up we turned it on and it connected immediately and it worked. You can adjust the volume and brightness of the screen which would be the only things you’d have to set up if you wanted. Very easy to use. I like the night vision so it works well in low light at night. The only thing I regret is not getting the 2 camera option for future use but very happy with this camera. It does have some other bells and whistles like being able to talk through the camera and music to be played but we barely use those functions.

Perfect basic monitor!
We bought this to use when our granddaughter is visiting and it is exactly what we needed! We’ve been using it for over a year now. The video quality is great and the monitor’s battery lasts forever. It has great range – we have a 4000 square foot house and we have connectivity no matter where we are in the house. There’s nothing to set up – you just plug it in and it’s ready to go. For the price, it’s definitely a great value for a secure non-wifi option, a small monitor to throw in the diaper bag for travel, or to keep at Gigi’s house!

Good, relatively affordable baby cams!
Great product. Wanted something secure that couldn’t be hacked as easily (ya know the scary world we live in). Does have a feature to talk through the camera. Picture quality is decent tho not as great at night (it’s a little fuzzy but most baby cams are). Still able to see my kiddo and make sure hes doing good.Sound quality is great! Also we love the lullaby feature to play some soothing piano lullaby (his favorite is the row row row your boat one) which helps calm him down to sleep. Music auto turns off at 30 minutes unless you change it.Do wish the cord to plug it in was a little longer. But wall mounting is super easy!

Great quality camera for babies
I tried this because I needed to be away from my newborn with out checking back in the room and waking her up continuously. This was better than I thought it clearly had a night light feature that showed me my baby was very quiet and kept a clear quality picture on her. The quality was amazing there was no lag and it connected right away. I would have to say this is by far the easiest baby monitor I have had hands down. I will be looking forward to taking this everywhere because of its ease and portability. I need to be able to monitor my baby because of how she sleeps and me needing to get stuff done without tipping in and out of the room over and over again.

Amazing baby monitor! Both video and sound. It’s very compact and easy to use, so you can even travel with it. And the battery on the receiver lasts a LONG time so you don’t need to worry about having it plugged in anytime you use it. Work even in long distance (we’ve used it at a distance of around 50 or 60 feet with many walls in between us and the baby).

Reliable Eyes and Ears When Babysitting My Granddaughter
As a grandfather who watches a toddler granddaughter a couple of days a week, having a dependable baby monitor is essential. The VTech VM819 turned out to be a terrific choice for our needs. The setup was literally plug-and-play. The camera and the parent unit were already paired out of the box – I just positioned the camera on a shelf in the nursery and turned on the handheld monitor. Instantly I had a clear view of the crib on the 2.8-inch color screen. The size of the screen is actually just right for me; it’s compact enough to carry around (fits in my pocket if needed) but large enough that I can see my granddaughter’s chest rising and falling to know she’s sleeping soundly. The night vision mode automatically kicks in when the lights go out, and I’m impressed with how clearly I can see her even in a pitch-black room. It’s a gentle infrared, so there’s no red glow or any light to disturb her – completely stealth. One of the standout features for me is the battery life on the parent unit. On days I’m babysitting, I’ll have the monitor on and clipped to my belt for hours while I do chores during her nap. This thing easily lasts through a long 3+ hour nap with battery to spare, which is fantastic because I don’t have to be tethered to an outlet. VTech advertises up to 19 hours of audio-only mode, and I believe it – I’ve certainly gotten a full day’s use without anxiously watching the battery bar. The range is great too. I’ve taken the monitor with me out to our backyard while she was asleep upstairs (probably 50-60 feet and through several walls) and the connection stayed solid with no drop-outs. It’s liberating to know I can water the garden or step into the garage and still keep an eye on her. Audio quality is clear in both directions. Yes, it has two-way talk, which has been a cute feature – sometimes if she stirs and I’m on my way to her room, I’ll softly speak through the monitor, “Grandpa’s coming, sweetie,” and I see her calm down slightly hearing a familiar voice. There are also built-in lullabies and even a little temperature sensor that shows the nursery temp on my unit. I mostly use the basic functions, but I did test the lullabies; they’re sweet and not too tinny-sounding. You can trigger them from the parent unit which is neat. Any cons? Not major ones. If I’m being picky, the 2.8″ screen, while adequate for me, might feel small to some folks who are used to smartphone-sized displays. But the trade-off is the better battery life due to that smaller screen. Also, it’s not a Wi-Fi or app-based system, which I actually prefer for simplicity and security, but that means I can’t check the camera when I’m away from home. For me that’s fine – I only need it when I’m actually on baby duty. In terms of reliability and peace of mind, this monitor scores high. No frills that complicate things, just solid performance. I can relax in the evenings watching TV and see the monitor on the coffee table showing a snoozing little girl, and that assurance is priceless. It’s one less thing for this grandpa to worry about when I’m in charge.

We have had this monitor for over two years now and have nothing but great things to say. We own a 10 acre acreage and this monitor stays connected anywhere on the property. We keep the monitor plugged in while not in use and have had no trouble with battery life. I can not recommend this monitor enough if you live in the country or like to go camping!

I bought this device because i have two kids in separate rooms , but after almost 4 months of using it i would say that it was my worst purchase ever..the two camera’s doesn’t work at the same time, one of them get disconnected when i connect both of them..and most of the time the two cameras have connection problems .. i would never recommend it to anyone..
