Smart Thermometers,Smarter BBQ
Q: Can I use it without a smartphone?
A: Yes, you can.
Q: How far can I monitor my food temperature with the smart base?
A: The stable monitoring range is about 70 to 600 ft, which is more than enough to cover anywhere in your home. In ideal lab conditions, the range can reach up to 3000 ft.
Q: I can’t turn on my smart base even after charging it. What’s wrong?
A: If the device fails to power on after charging, press the reset button to activate the battery, then recharge it.
Q: I saw many similar products often fail to connect. Does yours have this issue?
A: No. As long as it’s set up correctly, our thermometer connects reliably. We use industrial-grade Sub-1G wireless technology, providing a probe-to-booster connection range over 20× longer than Bluetooth.
Q: How long is the product’s lifespan?
A: Many of our earliest customers, who purchased over 10 years ago, are still using our thermometers today. With proper care and following our instructions — including recharging at least once every 3–5 months if stored for a long time
Q: How far can I monitor my BBQ temperature with my phone?
A: With internet access, distance is no limit — monitor your BBQ from anywhere in the world.
Why is the ambient temperature different from the smoker temperature?
Hello, the temperature can vary depending on the location, time, and heat source. We’ve conducted tens of thousands of ambient temperature tests, and whether it’s the same brand or different brands, even a difference of just 1 cm or 1 inch in position can cause a significant temperature variation. Our thermometer is NIST-certified, so please use it with confidence.

Fabulous
I have a few different probes now, four wireless, two wired on the smoker, and an instant read.So far, BBQOVN wireless ones are my favorite (though everyone needs an instant read). I greatly prefer the BBQOVN models honestly. They are priced competitively and perform flawlessly. The BBQOVN ones have stood the test of time as well, very durable. That is in contrast to my TempSpike unit which has two and one base. One of those won’t power on any more, and isn’t recognized by the charger.bit was newer than my first BBQOVN 3 unit too, so I’d stay away from those. For this unit, the BBQOVN 6, the Wifi is a big improvement over the Bluetooth. I don’t USUALLY have any dropouts with the Bluetooth, but when I do need to venture off to do something the wifi stays connected vs dropping out and potentially missing an alert. So I think I will only be grabbing wifi ones moving forward. This version/model6 is just as accurate as the other one, and really shows that my tesger probe is way off.I do really like that this model has a screen that shows you all the cool details. It looks great too. And you can set your temperature right on the unit phase itself, no app needed! Though, it’s way better with the app.

Great so far
Great so far.. I’m using mine in a stickburn sidebox smoker. Smoker is 40ft from house and it getting signal fine. I like the alarm option. If it last it worth the money. Has 3year limited warranty if you register it.

Decent results, easy temperature checking
I’ve used this a handful of times now, mainly to bake chicken in the oven. This thing has a lot of functionality, which may be great for some. Personally, I just want to be able to check it from the dock and have no interest in using the app. I was able to set it up without the app but it took me a minute to figure out all the display features, but it took some figuring out.Once I realized I could keep it simple and just charge the thing, spear some chicken, then check the display periodically, I was quite happy with this. The temperature doesn’t match my current thermometer perfectly, but I’m not sure which one is off. It’s also easy to clean and store. I like that I can mount it on my fridge or oven without taking up more cupboard space.Overall, this is a good tool. I can’t speak to the app functionality, but for simple use cases it’s been great for me. I love not having to open up a steaming covered pan to check the temperature manually.

I Love This!
I really enjoy grilling. That said, it can be distracting and frustrating as the need to monitor the progress is absolutely essential in a perfect cooking session. If you are like me, you are running to check the meat on the grill frequently, especially as it nears the perfect cooked level. That means you are running over to the grill, opening the top, sticking your thermometer probe into the end of the meat, the center of the meat, angling it in at a 45 degree angle, and then testing the other end. It is a dance those of us who have grilled for years have been forced to master.I am taking a deep breath right now. Just explaining that tired me out.I love this device! I can’t say anything other than “I love it!”. I just cooked a tenderloin on the grill, and I went out twice…once to put it on, and once when it was done. That was it. It truly was that easy. Even more awesome was the fact that I could place the “home” part of the unit on my desk and work while the meat cooked. How cool is that? The probe inserts down the middle of the meat with the plastic end sticking out, with the rest of the probe fully inserted into the roast. The directions say that the exposed end is safe to 1,000 degrees which is arguably a bit hotter than my Weber. The “home” part of the device shows the temperature “inside” the grill, (ambient), and the internal temperature of the meat. You can actually watch the temperature rise sitting inside the house while the grill does it’s work outside. The first time I used it was quite a novel experience. I kept saying to myself, “I can’t believe how cool this is”.I was surprised at how far the device reports the status. It is not “unlimited” as the ad says, but it does report to me at a distance of over 60 feet, which is very impressive. I can monitor the cooking process from anywhere in my house accurately and easily. The unit is charged with a USB-C cord, and it charges very quickly. No need for batteries. Again, very cool. One point that is not really spelled out in the advertisement – there is an app that you need to download to your phone to allow you to control aspects of the probe’s performance. Charge level, temperature range, type of meat, Fahrenheit or Celsius, and a “time remaining” feature that is at present untested as watching it was just pure fun for me.After years of running around to check the temperature, or worse, forgetting and burning dinner, this thermometer has earned a place in my home. One other thing…the device has a audible warning, with a minimum temp and a maximum temp range that provides an audible alert for me. Again, nearly failsafe grilling.I wish I’d found this 20 years ago. That said, I doubt this even existed 20 years ago. But it does now! If you love grilling, and hate burning or undercooking your dinner, this is a fantastic solution!Highly recommended!

I have used meat thermometers for years while cooking. It just takes the guess work out of cooking , your meat especially! worrying about over cooking or under cooking, but this wireless is a game changer you don’t have to worry, about damaging wire or where to put the box. I’ve been through so many cords on the wired meat thermometers ! I don’t have to worry about that anymore. Definitely would recommend. I think I might buy one for my dad for Christmas.

Having only previously used wired meat thermometers, I thought I’d join the 21st Century!Well, it’s been a pleasure. Yes, it does have a few mildly amusing quirks, but this meat thermometer works and, in my opinion (I’m not a chef), is accurate with it’s recording of temperature. It’s certainly within around 2C of my old (trusted?) meat thermometer, which will now be officially retired. My wife is the real, genuine chef/cook in this house, and so was keen to try it. If she’s impressed with it, then I should be. She has been in the food business for a long time and is currently a cake baker. She loves it, but hates the technology that comes with it. That’s nothing personal, she just hates tech!Joking aside, food safety is paramount. If this helps to improve safety in the kitchen, it has to be a good thing. This is a brilliant tool and will be routinely used now, to ensure our meats are cooked to perfection. Tech or no tech, my wife will be using it from now on.At the time of this review, this meat thermometer was almost £50, which offers reasonable value for money. With competition, take a look around, you may find similar products for less, but keep an eye on the quality. This is very good at what it does. Cheaper isn’t always a good thing.Five stars.

My previous meat thermometer was wired to the module which was inconvenient. This thermometer connects wirelessly to the base and you don’t have to worry about the base sitting somewhere a couple feet away (difficult with full counters and stovetop during holidays). The base is magnetic and was easy to put on the side of my fridge and out of the way.The app was a pleasant surprise – it is easy to use and has great functionality. You can set high and low temp ranges, select meat type to have automatic temp settings, and I was very impressed that it can monitor the temperature of both the part that is inserted (meat) and the part that sticks out (oven temp) along the same temperature probe. The charge on the thermometer lasted long enough to roast a large turkey, and with the app you can monitor things from the opposite side of the house. This is a great replacement for my previous meat thermometer.
