Has worked well for us so far
Frankly I’m a little surprised at how long this has worked and how well it has worked. Because this is an issue of safety in my home I was really wary about which of these to purchase. I ended up picking this one. It’s plenty loud, has lots of annoying options to choose from (you want it to be annoying, I use it as an alarm to wake me up for safety reasons). I haven’t tested the range much as for me our rooms are connected, but the sensitivity is surprisingly good and it has never failed so far. Battery on the sensor has also lasted a long time.

Works perfectly! Wish I bought this years ago!
So, I live in a rural area and during the day, I routinely let my dog and cat out my back door to hang out on the deck, enjoy the yard, do their “business” (my 7 year old cat refuses to use a litter box so she goes outside in far corner of the yard). When the weather is good, I just leave the door open partially so they are free to go in and out as they please. I close the door at night, and of course, during the winter, I just open the door to let them out then close it, and wait till they come back to the door to reopen it to let them back in when they’re done. Standing there watching and waiting for them is, well, kinda annoying heh … but that’s what I gotta do for my fur-babies. Anyways … winter is nearly here and started thinking there has to be a better way (short of installing a pet door). I came across this and decided to give it a try. It was super easy to set up and once I figured out the best place to put it, I let my dog and cat out, closed the door, and waited. Bit of time later, I hear ding-dong and go to the door and there they both are, just sitting there waiting for me to let them in! It worked perfectly!I’ve now been using it for just about a month and wow, why did I never think of using one of these before?! It’s been SO nice not having flies and moths and such fly into my house because of my leaving the door open for them. Both my dog and cat have figured out that when they hear ding-dong, it means someone is at the door so of course, they both run to the door to see who is there. As it’s starting to get chilly now, it’s really nice to be able to let them out and then putz around my house not worrying about keeping an eye on the door waiting to let them in.One unexpected result of having this motion detector doorbell is learning I have a surprising number of nighttime visitors at my back door that I was never aware of before. Every night around 10pm, a racoon comes snooping around. A few times a week, there’s a skunk checking out the area of my door. There is also two cats I’ve never seen before, a black cat and an orange cat. The moment I get near the door, all these other critters scatter fast, but it’s made me nervous about letting my dog and cat out at night, so I’ve since installed two motion-activated lights which so far, seem to be scaring off the racoon and skunk the moment they activate the lights, which is some distance from my door. I’ve also set up a motion activated camera, too – in the screenshot above, you can see that racoon checking out the sensor for the motion-detector doorbell lol!My only “negative” is I wish that there was setting to play the chime just once. By default, the doorbell plays whatever chime you select twice. I just use the default ding-dong sound but I just want to hear ding-dong, not ding-dong ding-dong.I definitely recommend this!

Wireless Motion Sensor Doorbell
It is possible that the fact that this specific door chime can be powered by either a USB cable or batteries was the first factor that grabbed my attention to it. This allows it to be used in a variety of settings. I believe that having the ability to put the motion sensor in a variety of locations without having to run additional wires is a significant benefit, particularly when one is attempting to have a clean and uncluttered appearance inside the space. About fifteen minutes was all that it took for me to set it up. I was able to instantly test the motion sensor by stepping in front of the device to see whether or not it would consistently pick up movement. The motion sensor coupled with the receiver without requiring a lot of work on my part. Undoubtedly, it rang out each and every time I or any of my coworkers crossed the street. This has proven to be extremely useful for me since my office is located at the rear of the building, and I do not always hear someone entering the building. My service is now more inviting and efficient as a result of the fact that I get a notification whenever a customer enters the building. It was after trying with a few different locations on the wall that I was able to figure it out. When I finally located the ideal height, which was just above the level of my waist, I saw that the detection range was constant and that it precisely covered my entry door. If you install it too high or too low, it may miss short objects or create false warnings from passing shadows. Because of this, it is possible that you may need to experiment with placing it at the appropriate height.
